WHAT IS THIS BREED ? It is an an all round hunter, swimmer and tracker

IS IT SUITABLE FOR UK SHOOTING ? Our German foundation dogs and their progeny have UK Field Trial Awards and are hard worked on all game.

CAN I USE ONE FOR FALCONRY, DEER STALKING AND WILDFOWLING? Yes, they can air scent, ground scent and swim. Of the 4 German coated breeds, Longhairs are the best for tracking.

WHAT IF I WANT ONE AS A PEG DOG ? This would be akin to driving an Audi like a Skoda !

ARE THEY SUITABLE FOR A NOVICE HANDLER ? Their hunting instincts have not been diluted so new owners must be committed to a programme of training. They are late maturers so if instant success is your goal this breed is not for you. Within our structured breeding programme we are producing dogs who are suitable for all types of owners, experienced and novices.

If prospective new enthusiasts are willing to put in time and effort they could have a profficient companion for life. We do offer training and advice and shooting days. Our Arany owners are always willing to offer their experiences regarding breed suitability.

ARE THEY GOOD NATURED ? All our dogs and bitches are kenneled together, are sociable with other dogs and have a craving for human companionship. They are especially good with children and our family owners can vouch for this.

WHO IS ARANY ? We are Larry Wilks and Brenda Moss , both having owned gundogs for many years. Larry has a history of over 25 years with GSP's and Hungarian Vizsla's breeding and owning 2 Full Champion and 2 Show Champion GSP's and in partnership, 2 Show Champion and 2 Full Champion HV's. Our first imported Longhairs from 1999 became the Top UK Import ( All Breeds ) and gained 9 Field trial Awards. Since GLP full KC registration in 2002 Arany Longhairs have achieved all the top UK awards in the ring with dogs who also have field trial awards. All our present breeding stock have awards in the ring and the field.

We are members of Club Langhaar in Germany and are Deutsch Langhaar Verband representatives in the UK, the GLP Club and the HPRBA.We are KC Accredited Breeders and eye test and hip score.
